The WORX WG787 is an outstanding piece of machinery. With a price tag of around $350, you would expect this lawn mower to be extremely reliable, fast, efficient and stable – and that’s exactly what it is. This lawn mower features a push button starter that makes the lives easier for anyone who wants to keep their yard pristine and beautiful. It’s lightweight and powerful at the same time. Anyone who’s up for the job can mow their lawn with ease. No gas or oil required, simple charge the battery and you’re good to go.

Our Take on this model:

It has an adjustable mowing height from 1.5 to 3.5 inches, with a 17 inch cutting width – which helps to save you both time and effort. It’s unusual to find a lawn mower for less than $400 with such a large cutting width. It comes complete with IntelliCut technology, which adds torque when you’re cutting through tough grass. One of the bad scenarios with traditional lawnmowers, is that bad patches of grass often lead the lawn mower to become stuck. We found that the WORX WG787 is brilliant when it comes to dealing with extremely large, rough or hard patches of grass. In fact, it managed to power through it. It also has a special mulching blade that aids in chopping up clippings better than standard, traditional blades. It has 3-in-1 cutting action for mulching, bagging or rear discharge. To turn the mower on, all you need to do is click a button.

The charging power of the this lawn mower is absolutely remarkable. We found that one full charge was able to give us nearly 15,000 square feet of cutting power. WORX state that the WG787 has a lifespan of up to 45 minutes once charged – which we feel is completely within reason. WORX have always strived to provide and build the absolute best lawn mowers, and this mower is no exception. It cuts through grass like it’s nothing. It’s quick and easy to work with. It doesn’t struggle to get over rough patches, it just gets the job done.

Love the mower, hate the battery. This is the third year I have owned the mower (half way through third cutting season) and I need yet another battery.

The first year I left the battery connected to the charger all winter. Apparently, that will kill a lead acid battery. Worx was very good about replacing my battery which was still under warranty. The next winter I brought the battery inside, charged it and let it sit off the charger, checking the level every month. The level never went below two lights. Now in the middle of year three I find the battery gets hot on the charger, has puffed out a bit and will not work.

Time for battery number three. At $150 each, these batteries are going to make this a rather expensive proposition. When this has reached its end of use I am going to replace with a Lith-ion battery mower.
