Our Review:

We have to say that initially the idea of trying out a riding lawn mower for our yard was kind of overkill but having had the Husqvarna YTH2042 for quite some time now, we feel happy having made the difficult decision. 1.5 to 4 inches cutting height adjustment for its ample 42 inch cutting width gives it an impressive configuration. Plus, the 20HP Briggs & Stratton motor happily purr into life with the twist of the key regardless of whether it is cold, raining or stifling hot outside. In fact, other than the first day, the engine has never failed to start up. When you ride the Husqvarna YTH2042, you are assured of the power and performance, with the gentle rumble of the machine and its sort of loud nature.

Probably the best feature of this mower was its hydrostatic transmission. I remember having used a friend’s mower in the past with normal transmission gears that had to be wrestled with in order to get it going. Thankfully, its child’s play with the Husqvarna YTH2042. You stay on a straight line with zero effort, maintain a constant speed and never have to worry about undulations or slopes. I also have to mention the Air Induction system as its this particular technology that helps lift grass and cut more consistently.

With this riding lawn mower by Husqvarna, you do get plenty of premium features such as a heavy cast construction for the front axle, anti-scalp wheels, bumpers, blade engagement lever on the dash, deck was port and also a nifty cup holder for your early morning coffee, we definitely need a cup when mowing!

I watched your Vedio about changing blades and the narrator neglected
To mention anything about static discharge on an engine that has been rotated
Which means the engine could pop or backfire as the blade is rotated
During blade installation or removal. Always. Always. Disconnect
The spark plug or plugs to remove this danger.

How well does this machine perform on hills? I have a pond levee with about a 30 degree slope.

I purchased a Husqvarna 54″ from Tractor Supply( My First Mistake ). I paid for a Three Year Extended Service Plan ( My Second Mistake ). This mower has been nothing short of hell. I have never been able to contact or get anyone to come “Service” this mower or Repair it.
They just say…” You got a number to call on the service plan”” No joke…but I will never purchase from them again. I would rather drive 100 miles than go the 10 miles to those clowns.
