Summary:

Fiskars 6201
Fiskars 6201 is a simple to use, push type lawn mower that depends on the user’s momentum and muscle power to move the mower around. At first glance, one might feel it to be a difficult mower to maneuver owing to the lack of motorized parts but its patent pending technologies and ergonomic design make it easy handling even on uphill tracts. InertiaDrive Reel technology enables it to cut twice as much weed as a normal mower and the StaySharp Cutting System reduces the inconvenience caused due to regular sharpening of the blades and also cuts down costs. To adjust height easily, it features yet another patent pending technology called the VersaCut tech so that you can mow through any kind of weed of any height with ease. The wheels are compacted together into the overall design such that they eat very little surface area resulting in less uncut surface underneath the mower.

Our Review:

Straight out of the box, I instantly fell in love with its unique handle designs. Instead of a traditional horizontal handle bar design, this one features a constant loop elongated design that lets you decide whether to push on the horizontal bars or the vertical sides. I find that using the vertical sides give you better momentum when pushing through thicker grass. Now, the Fiskars 6201 came packaged just right with everything clearly laid out. All I needed was a wrench and following the clearly mentioned instructions I managed to assemble the push mower in less than half an hour. Since then, I have just loved relying on my mower instead of calling in a gardener to do the task for me.

This might be a push mower but as long as you maintain the cutting height at no more than one third of your grass height, you will not find it hard to operate. I usually take two passes on my lawn, idly pushing it along straight lines after setting the cutting height appropriately. Pushing uphill is easy too and it manages to cut rather well even at a height adjustment of 1 inch. Just remember not to use an exceptionally high cutting height as this tends to increase the friction making it harder to push around.

The blade arrangement will take a little tinkering to perfectly nail long weeds but over time, you will be able to understand the accurate cutting depth required for varying heights. Moreover, with the handle bar height and cutting height adjustments being so easy to manipulate, you need not stop or take a moment to correct measurements.
